Modern times have brought many changes, not the least of which is the way we experience intimate relationships and marriage. In the past, it was common to make compromises when selecting a marriage partner, perhaps for financial reasons. These days, there are so many feasible alternatives to our own situation that we begin to question what other romantic possibilities are out there, as well as question the relationship we are currently in. While greater romantic freedom has ensured that many people will find true love, it has also been frustrating to others who stay in their current relationship because the cost of leaving is too high.
