Motherhood is a full-time job which can carry dangerous consequences that Mia Redrick refers to as “Silent War.” This is where a mother loses her identity in the day-to-day grind of being a mother. She loses sight of her personal interests and passions and often doesn’t realize that it has happened. Redrick asserts that this is common and often realized by the mother herself, when she finds herself realizing she doesn’t know when the last time she finished a book was or even what she would consider her hobbies anymore. A whole mom, however, one who takes care of herself and retains her individuality, might be the best mom for a child.
