According to author Susan Pease Gadoua, breaking up today is both harder and easier to do than it was just fifteen years ago. On the one hand, the built-in memorials we have for even the shortest of relationship flings via social networking can make breaking up quite a bit harder. With the advent of smart phones and the capabilities of recording every important moment of a relationship, break ups then bring the decision of whether to delete these memories or archive them for future reflection and perusal. This conundrum has become so prevalent that its even been the focus of a recent UCSC study.
