While spring is a common time for spring cleaning, reinvigorating of yard, and home improvement, a renovation can put a real strain on a marriage. Home improvement can challenge the very foundation of a relationship with the demands it places on communication, maturity, and compromise. Both partners will have different ideas of what renovations they want done and what they want the new house to look like. Compromise will be key, which requires the maturity in both partners to listen to and respect each other’s views. Once it is understood what everyone wants, good communication is key.
