Learn to Apologize Well

There comes a time in every relationship when someone has an apology to make. A genuine apology is a crucial part of re-building a connection with your partner after a fight. An apology should not be an easy way out of a fight but a sincere statement, not including the word “but,” which immediately cancels out the apology. Focus on your actions instead of your partner’s response and don’t get sucked into the blame game. And remember, if you truly apologize you should also be discontinuing what you are apologizing for. Set an example in yourself for apologizing well and take the high road – it’s worth it in the long run.
