Nine Practices to Help You Say No

Some busy people find themselves unnecessarily burdened because they have a difficult time telling people “no” when favors are asked of them. This can affect people in varying degrees, but this article lists nine tips to help us learn to tell people no. The first is to “know your no.” This means to be able to identify which things are important to you and which things aren’t. Without a clear grasp of what we do or don’t want to do, it’s hard to say no to something with any confidence. Once this knowledge has been established, the next step is to be appreciative by acknowledging the compliment implied in asking for a favor.
