Sex addiction has many of the same signs of addiction that are exhibited by other dependent behaviors. Addictions make life unmanageable in many ways including dire effects on financial, emotional and physical health. From the increased risk of STDs to bankruptcy, sex addiction has its own set of negative impacts on the addict. Sex addiction is a process addiction. Three to six percent of the general population suffers from sex addiction. Sex addicts are very likely adult victims of physical and/or sexual child abuse. Signs of sex addiction include compulsive masturbation, use of pornography, prostitution, unsafe sex practices, multiple and/or anonymous partners.
